Because that was it. That wasn't your story. You were there, you made choices, but you never had to see it through this far. You could have stopped, at any time. You could have just let go. But some of you had to prove you were above brutality. Some of you had to win. And those of you who just wanted to survive...thought struggling was the best option. There wasn't a lesson or a moral, and this was always the end. At least, for you. For everyone else...? Who knows.
